Ryan Corner Wind Farm GPG Naturgy Group Background The Ryan Corner Wind Farm site is located in South-Western Victoria, 16.5km north-west of Port Fairy within the Moyne Shire. The wind farm comprises 52 turbines with a total output of approximately 218.4MW. It will connect to the grid via a 132kV overhead transmission circuit to the existing 500kV Tarrone Terminal Station. All permits and management plans have been endorsed for the wind farm, the Tarrone North terminal station and the connecting transmission line and are available on the web site at www.ryancornerwindfarm.globalpower-generation.com.au/the-project/relevant-documentation/. Construction Update 39 turbine foundations, or 75%, have been poured to date. The internal trenching and cabling to connect the turbines to the onsite substation is approximately 33% completed. The collector substation is progressing with the control building and both transformers being installed and the operations building under construction. More than 50% of the poles for the transmission line between the wind farm and the Tarrone terminal station have been erected and the stringing between the poles has commenced. A perfectly coordinated super load delivery transported the transformer from Geelong to the terminal station in May and the installation is underway. The wind farm site compound has more activity as Vestas moves in to prepare for the erection of the turbines and more than 180 personnel are on site each day. Weekly construction updates along with the monthly newsletter can be found on the web site www.ryancornerwindfarm.globalpower-generation.com.au. Community Engagement and Benefit Sharing The Ryan Corner Community Engagement Committee meets six weekly and is composed of community members, a Moyne Shire councillor and representatives from GPG. Copies of minutes are available on the Moyne Shire website. The Community Engagement and Benefit Sharing Plan associated to the project includes a Neighbour Benefit Program to ensure the financial benefits of the proposed project will be shared with those closest to the wind farm. Additionally, a Community Benefit Program will provide funding to develop or implement local community projects or initiatives in the area.
