About
The stables in Koroit were established in 1880 as a carting business and horse and buggy hiring service by Dutch immigrant William Geldhoff. He built large basalt stables on land he leased from the estate of George Thomson. The business was later taken over by his sons. Following the introduction of the motor car, the Geldhoff’s ran the town’s first school bus service to and from Warrnambool. In order to accommodate the bus, the interior stabling was removed. Over the past 2 or so years, The Koroit Stables is now converted to an amazing and unique event venue catering from small to large groups.
